SpectraWatt Accepts Business Excellence Award in Manufacturing from Dutchess County Economic Development Corporation

Hopewell Junction, NY – November 4, 2010 – SpectraWatt, a manufacturer and supplier of advanced silicon photovoltaic cells to the solar industry, will be honored in Poughkeepsie this evening during an award ceremony hosted by the Dutchess County Economic Development Corporation (DCEDC). As the first solar cell factory in New York, the company accepts the Business Excellence Award recognizing their innovative approach to manufacturing.

Officially opened in May, SpectraWatt’s factory in East Fishkill now runs 24/7 and has already produced over one million solar cells. The company has created over 110 jobs in Dutchess County and looks forward to continued growth in the area.
